A minimum delay is considered to be 30 minutes. However, if you miss a train then you reasonably have the right to take another train and not to incur any additional charges. If you are changing train company, ask the guard on the train which operator caused the delay as a form of evidence. You should not have to pay any additional charges and if you are asked to then you should raise a complaint via resolver in order to recover these costs.
The general rule for a refund is 20% of the single ticket if the delayed or 10% of your returned ticket, if your train is delayed by more than 1 hour.
