Based on resolver’s experience to date, losing your phone can be a great annoyance, especially if you use it for work. If you lose your phone you should contact your insurer immediately as some companies have strict time limits for reporting lost items. Contact your insurer and the police to obtain a crime reference number (if applicable) and arrange to have your phone ‘blocked’ by your telephone company.

Check your policy small print very carefully before making a claim because each company will have various exclusions to their insurance. Also be aware that you may not be covered during the first 14 or 21 days of the policy. If your policy covers the loss which has occurred simply contact your insurer and state that you wish to make a claim for replacement of your phone under your insurance policy. You will need to have your policy documents to hand, and may also be required to furnish your insurer with a crime number. If you have any queries regarding your claim, resolver recommends that you submit your concern in writing and resolver can assist you in submitting, recording and reminding you when and who to escalate to.

Resolver can help you resolve this issue quickly, free of charge and without the hassle. We can also help you with the next step of writing your complaint. Click on the link below to create your email.
You should know
  • If you’re making a complaint about making an insurance claim rather than a mis-sold policy, check your documents to see who the “underwriter” is. You’ll need to make a complaint to that organisation.
